About Anotics News

Reporting and analysis on the AI annotation industry — the platforms, pay, worker rights, and economics behind the data that trains AI.

Who publishes Anotics News

Anotics News is the editorial section of Anotics, a platform built for and used by AI annotation workers. Our newsroom is staffed by writers and editors who report on this industry and the people who work in it.

Our editorial process

Every article goes through a three-step workflow before it is published:

  1. Reporting & drafting. A writer researches the story, interviews sources where relevant, and writes a draft.
  2. Editorial review. A separate editor reviews the draft for accuracy, fairness, clarity, and adherence to these standards. Writers cannot publish their own work.
  3. Publication. Only an editor, admin, or owner can move an article to published. Bylines, publication dates, and any later updates are recorded transparently on the article page.

Independence and ownership

Anotics News is part of the Anotics company. We're transparent about that relationship: the same organization that builds the worker tools also publishes this news section. We commit to reporting honestly on the AI annotation industry — including, when warranted, on platforms and practices that overlap with our own product space. Editorial decisions about what to cover and how to cover it are made by the newsroom, not by product or commercial teams.

Sourcing and accuracy

We prefer named sources and on-the-record interviews. When we use anonymous sources — for example, workers who could face retaliation from a platform — we say so and explain why. We aim to corroborate claims with documents, data, or multiple sources before publishing. When we get something wrong, we correct it.

Corrections

Errors of fact are corrected promptly. Significant changes after publication are reflected in the article's Updated date and, where appropriate, called out within the article. See our corrections policy for details on how to report an error.
